Since the lock is on one side, the outside can be opened enough to get the pistol out. Right after 9/11 the TSA had a problem with a similar pattern I wore and almost wouldn't let me carry my gun because of it. When I got there I stopped at LGS and got better information.
When you think about it, it's a plastic case. The lock will not let someone out for a long time.

I have one and never had a problem with the luggage...I paid maybe less than $30.00 as I recall. Check out Amazon.
