During late 1994, without complaint from the Clinton Gun Ban, the entire country was bound by the magazine ban. The industry has moved to double-barreled pistols in small sizes and service. The Glock 19 became just one example of a pistol that needed a Clinton magazine suddenly fired. Oh, what we would give to have 10 concealed carry pistols at the ready. There were no less than 10 rounds, but hardly any supporting equipment (independent magazines, holsters, holsters).
Today, the wait is over and it seems that the time has come for the modern incarnation of the legislature. Glock has released a larger version of its Slimline 9mm pistol. Their first effort in the US was the Glock 43. As a six-shot 9mm, it's very sub-compact. With a short barrel/rail combined with a short frame, it can be hidden in a belt under a lab coat, worn in an ankle holster, or slipped into a pocket bag.
However, sticking to the Glock 43 after being fired is a difficult task. It doesn't hurt, but trying to pass the Wizard Drill - a test to see if you're proficient with the gun you're carrying, while carrying it - is tough. Some people come there, but some don't.
Meanwhile, some people on the Internet are saying that there is no real innovation from gun companies. Well, Glock didn't just make the Glock 43 bigger; they had to make a few changes to make everything perfect. While they were there, realizing that most of the concealment work is in the length of the magazine / frame and not the barrel / rail for carrying it in the waist, they released two models for 2019.
My New Favorite Glock, The Slimline Glock 48
The main product is the Glock 43X. Basically a Glock 43 on a taller frame, the magazine is different. With a 9x19mm 10 bullet capacity, it is the same size as a Glock 43 when loaded with a Vickers Tactical/Tango Down +2 basepad. To fit the 10 rounds at eight intervals, the new magazines are thicker and do not fit in the rear.
The short barrel and slide are quick out of the holster, but with a frame that gives you, the user, more grip.
Not content with making the Glock 43X "magazine ban," they used that Glock 43X frame and added a barrel/slide that mirrors the length of the G19 (albeit thinner). The result: the Glock 48. Similar to a 10-shot pistol, the slightly longer barrel/cell gives you more to aim for.
For those who carry the appendage, the longer barrel/slide gives the body something to push against to push the rear of the gun back into the body. This greatly improves concealment.

The slide for the Glock 43X is the same length as the G43 at 6 inches (with a 3.41 inch barrel). The Glock 48 is called "compact", with a length of 6.85 inches (barrel 4.17 inches), so it fits the current Canadian violation.
What do guns have in common? Each carries two 10-round magazines. Sight options include the classic plastic "balls in a bucket" if you want to switch to your favorite sights, Glock night sights (GNS) or Glock brand Ameriglo Bold. The bezels are finely polished and the slides are finished in nPVD silver. There are cocking serrations on the front, which is useful for checking the chamber, if your finger was not on the lip.
In addition, the magazine release is reversible, there is a "beaver tail" built into the rear of the frame to reduce the risk of slide bite, and the pistols both have Glock Marksman barrels.
First Shots Review: The Glock 48
I found the Glock 48 weighed 17.6 ounces on my scale, with an empty magazine in place. The Glock 43X is 16.8 oz, mounted the same. The trigger pull was weighed on a Wheeler Engineering Professional digital trigger scale: The Glock 48 weighs 5 pounds 1.3 ounces; the Glock 43X weighs 5 lbs, 2.8 oz.
The Dark Star Gear Hitchhiker AIWB holster for the original Glock 43 also fits the G48. AIWB holsters are usually longer than their handguns to improve concealment. The Slimlines 10-shot disappears under the stylish clothes.
I found that the rifle produced 2 to 3 inch groups from 25 yards using a bench, applying the "best three of five" to the group as a measurement to avoid my own mistakes. I have sent bullets and blanks from many different manufacturers. I also had my friend and colleague, famous attorney "Marshal" Chuck Haggard meet me on the circuit. He put some boxes on the guns and got them too.
I shot a small USPSA steel template (about 14 inches long by 11 inches wide, not including the 4 by 4 inch box) from 50 yards. I loaded three of the four rounds of Federal FMJ 115 ammunition into the Glock 43X and placed them in the steel plate body.

The first shot that went off the left side of the plate did so because I pulled the trigger. Think about it: Less than a 3½-inch barrel, in a gun that always weighs less than 17 ounces, with a trigger pull of more than 5 pounds - and I got a shot at 50 yards.
Chuck pulls out his personal pistol, a G43 he usually carries. Therefore, it wears closely and becomes yellow, sweaty and dirty. As a Glock owner, he only takes the gun in twice a year for cleaning and inspection, and it goes on and on. The holster he carries is the Hitchhiker, AIWB from Dark Star Gear (DSG). He let me borrow equipment for a gun shooting evaluation. In fact, the DSG holster is so long that it looks like it was designed specifically for the Glock 48, which is a useful arrangement.
The pistol is equipped with the Tau Development Group Striker Control Device (SCD), which replaces the factory striker plate. Easy to install, prevents the striker from being dragged backwards when you place your thumb on the back of the slide. This removes the worry about resetting. If something hits the trigger, you can feel the SCD print. Stop and reverse course, but be aware that the attacker will not return to firing position until you relieve pressure on the SCD.

Chuck installed it and tested it on two samples. The striker control kit for the G43 works on the new rifle. I did some practice with each pistol to see how it would fit in the qualifying situation and I can confidently report that both are up to the task.
In a more or less conventional practice shooting from a qualified law enforcement officer, the results were readily available.
